"Limerick Leader 9th July 2011 - An Taoiseach's main focus during visit to Kilmallock engineering site was on ideas to create further employment in the area"

The management and staff of Glenfield Engineering were delighted to welcome An Taoiseach Enda Kenny to their Kilmallock workshops and offices on Friday 1st July 2011.

After chatting with the large crowd of well wishers that had gathered to greet him the Taoiseach was shown around the workshop facilities which extend over 3,000 sq. M with 3 hectares of concrete lay-down area by Managing Director Seamus Buckley. There are two seperate fabrication workshops, a machine workshop, shot-blast facility and paint shop with material handling capabilities ranging from 3.2 to 20 Tonne gantry cranes and in addition to a 1 tonne pillar crane. Mr. Kenny was very interested in the various pieces of equipment and the projects being completed.

Knowing that the Taoiseach was a keen cyclist the management presented him with a gift of some cycling gear which he said would be very handy for the Ring of Kerry Challenge Cycle he was taking part in the next day.

Before finishing his visit Mr. Kenny met with representatives of the Kilmallock Town Traders, local business people, councillors and politicians.
